In March 2022, SwabTek announced that the Cameron County Sheriff's Office in Texas would deploy 75 Counter-Narcotics Go Bags. The company described a rollout to patrol, forensics and narcotics deputies under then-Sheriff Eric Garza.
The announcement also named the Carrizales-Rucker Cameron County Detention Center, where corrections personnel would use tests to screen for suspected contraband. SwabTek reported providing training and certification support as part of the deployment.
The story illustrates how an agency can equip different teams for related tasks: investigating suspected substances in the field and examining materials entering a detention facility. A common testing format can sit within each team's own procedures, with product training helping personnel understand how to use it. Watch the accompanying customer video from the 2022 rollout here.
